FLYING HEART IDAHO

Location : Hailey, Idaho

Project Concept : Inspired by memorable travels through Switzerland, the homeowners envisioned a timeless full-stone mountain home designed to respond naturally to its expansive Idaho landscape. The residence is composed of two distinct architectural forms that balance privacy, simplicity, and connection to the raw landscape.

The larger two-story volume contains the home’s more private living spaces and is intentionally expressed as a simple, monolithic mass. In contrast, the smaller gabled structure serves as the primary gathering space, featuring a more transparent expression that opens toward the surrounding landscape and draws natural light completely through the interior space ( Kitchen, Dining, and Living ). Rooted in mountain architecture traditions while embracing a contemporary design approach, the home creates an essential connection to Idaho’s landscape.
